You can use the grommets that are on the BC for mounting a knife. I think it would be better to zip-tie the knife to a shoulder strap or strap it to your leg, as it is more natural to grab a knife...

I modified a SL4 to an LED light. Not really bright, but it was cheaper than getting a replacement bulb for it.

If you want a light that isn't ridiculously expensive but still bright I would go for...
